Narrative:
Taxiing to runway 21C at detroit, we were told to hold short of taxiway F on taxiway H and call ground on 119.45. This we did. We were told to taxi via taxiway F to taxiway M and hold short of taxiway M3. There is a lot of construction in dtw and I had the airport charts 'a' and 'B' out for reference. The 'a' is much smaller print but has more of the new taxiway changes on it. I was about to make a wrong turn at taxiway F and taxiway V when ground control came up and told me to turn right to stay on taxiway F. Evidently others had begun the turn onto taxiway V because he was monitoring the taxiing aircraft through that point. Where txwys F, V, and H meet, if you go about 20 ft past the intersection you are on a large concrete area and most of the signs are out of view. It's sort of confusing. My first officer was confused also. I will be more heads up in the future as the new terminal construction continues. There are changes every day it seems. Ground control has done a good job with the construction.
