Narrative:
On a flight from eloy, az, to deming, NM, on V94 between stanfield VOR and san simon VOR on the eastern half of that section I believe I encountered both mountain wave and violent thermal activity. The rate of altitude change was unbelievable, far exceeding the capability of my cessna skylark 175 to maintain altitude. As a result I was requested to contact the FAA upon arrival at deming, NM. I did so and spoke with the watch supervisor. During our discussion he informed me that after my incident(south) other pilots reported large up/down drafts in that area.
