Narrative:
Twice during a series of practice touch-and-goes, I landed somewhat short of the displaced threshold on runway 9 at swf. Because the runway there is so much larger than those to which I am accustomed, on short final I misjudged my distance from the long displaced threshold, and touched down short of it. Being aware of the illusions created by larger-than-normal runways, I came to swf to practice. In retrospect, I should have adjusted my trajectory beyond the threshold instead of trying to touch down just long of it.

Title: PLT IN C182 MAKING PRACTICE TOUCH-AND-GO LNDGS AT SWF TOUCHED DOWN SHORT OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD TWICE.
Narrative: TWICE DURING A SERIES OF PRACTICE TOUCH-AND-GOES, I LANDED SOMEWHAT SHORT OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD ON RWY 9 AT SWF. BECAUSE THE RWY THERE IS SO MUCH LARGER THAN THOSE TO WHICH I AM ACCUSTOMED, ON SHORT FINAL I MISJUDGED MY DISTANCE FROM THE LONG DISPLACED THRESHOLD, AND TOUCHED DOWN SHORT OF IT. BEING AWARE OF THE ILLUSIONS CREATED BY LARGER-THAN-NORMAL RWYS, I CAME TO SWF TO PRACTICE. IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE ADJUSTED MY TRAJECTORY BEYOND THE THRESHOLD INSTEAD OF TRYING TO TOUCH DOWN JUST LONG OF IT.
