Narrative:
I was picking up passenger at the native alaska bush village of nondalton. There were 2 adult women with their children. I was aware of the 2 women and 5 children, of which 2 were under the age of 2 yrs. The problem was that I could not see the child sitting in the mother's lap in the aft seat of the C206. The problem was discovered as the FAA representatives met me at merrill field in anchorage. The FAA inspector counted the passenger and questioned the mothers about their children's ages. He agreed with me that there were 7 passenger with 2 of them being lap children under the age of 2 yrs. A second inspector was taking names and subsequently discovered that there was a 6TH child of age 2 1/2 yrs old. This is actually a relatively common occurrence in alaska as the passenger try to transport their children for free. The problem is also exacerbated by the fact that there are usually a large number of adults, children and dogs in the vicinity of the airplane as it is unloading and loading passenger and cargo.

Title: A C206 PLT WAS MET AT MRI BY FAA REPRESENTATIVES WHO DISCOVERED THAT A PAX HAD RPTED A CHILD AS 2 YRS OLD WHEN IT WAS IN FACT 2 PT 5 YRS OLD.
Narrative: I WAS PICKING UP PAX AT THE NATIVE ALASKA BUSH VILLAGE OF NONDALTON. THERE WERE 2 ADULT WOMEN WITH THEIR CHILDREN. I WAS AWARE OF THE 2 WOMEN AND 5 CHILDREN, OF WHICH 2 WERE UNDER THE AGE OF 2 YRS. THE PROB WAS THAT I COULD NOT SEE THE CHILD SITTING IN THE MOTHER'S LAP IN THE AFT SEAT OF THE C206. THE PROB WAS DISCOVERED AS THE FAA REPRESENTATIVES MET ME AT MERRILL FIELD IN ANCHORAGE. THE FAA INSPECTOR COUNTED THE PAX AND QUESTIONED THE MOTHERS ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN'S AGES. HE AGREED WITH ME THAT THERE WERE 7 PAX WITH 2 OF THEM BEING LAP CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 2 YRS. A SECOND INSPECTOR WAS TAKING NAMES AND SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A 6TH CHILD OF AGE 2 1/2 YRS OLD. THIS IS ACTUALLY A RELATIVELY COMMON OCCURRENCE IN ALASKA AS THE PAX TRY TO TRANSPORT THEIR CHILDREN FOR FREE. THE PROB IS ALSO EXACERBATED BY THE FACT THAT THERE ARE USUALLY A LARGE NUMBER OF ADULTS, CHILDREN AND DOGS IN THE VICINITY OF THE AIRPLANE AS IT IS UNLOADING AND LOADING PAX AND CARGO.
