Primary Problem | Passenger Human Performance |
Narrative:
Passenger was boarded in lgw, even though he appeared to the agents there to either be intoxicated, on drugs and/or acting strangely. Immediately after takeoff, he opened his own beer, which we took away, but, he went into the bathroom and drank 2 more before we found them. There were several problems with this individual from there on and included: not allowing another passenger to situation by him and threatening him if he did, shoving a little girl in the aisle (getting out of his seat on purpose to do this), making obscene gestures and comments to the man across the aisle from him, shoving another passenger and hitting me once in the back with his fist and slugging at me twice after that, when I told him he needed to take his seat. The flight service manager spoke to all involved. The passenger put a blanket over his head for the remaining 7 hours of the flight and seemed to be ok. It appeared that most of the problems occurred just after the meal/beverage service and all the passenger in the aisle, all the movement, disturbed this man, paranoia perhaps. I did not press charges, but the father of the young girl was going to.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT, B777, LGW-IAH, UNRULY, INTOXICATED PAX ASSAULTED LITTLE GIRL, FLT ATTENDANT, AND HARASSED OTHERS. DRANK FROM OWN SUPPLY.
Narrative: PAX WAS BOARDED IN LGW, EVEN THOUGH HE APPEARED TO THE AGENTS THERE TO EITHER BE INTOXICATED, ON DRUGS AND/OR ACTING STRANGELY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF, HE OPENED HIS OWN BEER, WHICH WE TOOK AWAY, BUT, HE WENT INTO THE BATHROOM AND DRANK 2 MORE BEFORE WE FOUND THEM. THERE WERE SEVERAL PROBS WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL FROM THERE ON AND INCLUDED: NOT ALLOWING ANOTHER PAX TO SIT BY HIM AND THREATENING HIM IF HE DID, SHOVING A LITTLE GIRL IN THE AISLE (GETTING OUT OF HIS SEAT ON PURPOSE TO DO THIS), MAKING OBSCENE GESTURES AND COMMENTS TO THE MAN ACROSS THE AISLE FROM HIM, SHOVING ANOTHER PAX AND HITTING ME ONCE IN THE BACK WITH HIS FIST AND SLUGGING AT ME TWICE AFTER THAT, WHEN I TOLD HIM HE NEEDED TO TAKE HIS SEAT. THE FLT SVC MGR SPOKE TO ALL INVOLVED. THE PAX PUT A BLANKET OVER HIS HEAD FOR THE REMAINING 7 HRS OF THE FLT AND SEEMED TO BE OK. IT APPEARED THAT MOST OF THE PROBS OCCURRED JUST AFTER THE MEAL/BEVERAGE SVC AND ALL THE PAX IN THE AISLE, ALL THE MOVEMENT, DISTURBED THIS MAN, PARANOIA PERHAPS. I DID NOT PRESS CHARGES, BUT THE FATHER OF THE YOUNG GIRL WAS GOING TO.
