Narrative:
Cockpit interruptions with ground personnel during crew performance calculations. Slot time was within 10 mins. A lower EPR setting was calculated for a reduced power takeoff than was required. During the takeoff roll, the crew noticed a slower than normal acceleration roll and advanced power to maximum takeoff power. Climb, cruise and landing were uneventful. During the flight, the crew discussed and reworked and found the mistake, and attributed it to pre takeoff interruptions by ground personnel.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B747 FLC ADVANCED THE THROTTLES TO OBTAIN MAX TKOF PWR WHEN THE USE OF REDUCED EPR SETTING WAS NOT SUFFICIENT ON TKOF AT LLSD.
Narrative: COCKPIT INTERRUPTIONS WITH GND PERSONNEL DURING CREW PERFORMANCE CALCULATIONS. SLOT TIME WAS WITHIN 10 MINS. A LOWER EPR SETTING WAS CALCULATED FOR A REDUCED PWR TKOF THAN WAS REQUIRED. DURING THE TKOF ROLL, THE CREW NOTICED A SLOWER THAN NORMAL ACCELERATION ROLL AND ADVANCED PWR TO MAX TKOF PWR. CLB, CRUISE AND LNDG WERE UNEVENTFUL. DURING THE FLT, THE CREW DISCUSSED AND REWORKED AND FOUND THE MISTAKE, AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO PRE TKOF INTERRUPTIONS BY GND PERSONNEL.
