Narrative:
Air carrier Y was deviating for WX and stopped climb at FL330 for traffic at FL350. Once clear, air carrier Y was climbed to FL350. Air carrier Y was finished deviation and was cleared direct stl. I don't think the radar controller realized, air carrier X was going to make a left turn at rod VOR into the path of air carrier Y. Separation was lost.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AFTER CLRING WX, ACFT Y WAS GIVEN A HIGHER ALT AND A DIRECT ROUTING. THIS CONFLICTED WITH ACFT X, WHICH WAS AT THE SAME ALT. SEPARATION WAS LOST.
Narrative: ACR Y WAS DEVIATING FOR WX AND STOPPED CLB AT FL330 FOR TFC AT FL350. ONCE CLR, ACR Y WAS CLBED TO FL350. ACR Y WAS FINISHED DEV AND WAS CLRED DIRECT STL. I DON'T THINK THE RADAR CTLR REALIZED, ACR X WAS GOING TO MAKE A L TURN AT ROD VOR INTO THE PATH OF ACR Y. SEPARATION WAS LOST.
