Narrative:
I signed on duty at lan, and after reading the read and initial binder, I took over the reynolds sector, including the jxn airport. I was briefed by the controller that I relieved that there was a hot acrobatic box over jxn, up to 5000 ft. I know that each acrobatic box must be notamed, prior coordination, etc, and I did not have enough information to know how to treat the airspace, so I asked the quality assurance/training specialist to find out more information for me. He checked with our airspace plans and procedures person, who gave more information and prepared a letter for the read and initial binder. The letter finally was issued the next day. It is not uncommon at lan for controllers to not have the information to do their jobs. We often have to search out this type of information -- in this case it had been agreed to well in advance by the staff for a 4 day acrobatic competition -- when we become aware that it is pertinent to our operation.

Title: RPTR STATES THAT HIS FACILITY DOES NOT ALWAYS PROVIDE THE NECESSARY INFO TO THE CTLR WORK FORCE TO DO THEIR JOB. THIS INFO IS NORMALLY FOUND IN A TIMELY MANNER IN THE PREDUTY READ BINDER. IN THIS SIT, RPTR HAD TO SOLICIT THE LATE INFO.
