Narrative:
We were cleared and accomplished a 330 degree heading out of smith intersection on the sabine 5 arrival into iah. Our landing runway was assigned as runway 27. After clearance given to descend to 6000 ft, we complied. No other instructions were received or acknowledged prior to the controller ordering an immediate turn (right) to 070 degrees and expedite descent. First officer was watching the traffic on TCASII the controller was concerned with. No other problem after that. Supplemental information from acn 441488: at 6500 ft, TCASII warning and controller giving an immediate right turn to 070 degrees and down to 5000 ft. Appeared we were forgotten and given a heading too late to intercept runway 27 localizer, conflict with runway 26 traffic. No clearance ever given to intercept or descend lower than 6000 ft until after evasive maneuver. No ATC explanation or apology.
