Narrative:
Pushback from all X gates at phl is 'advise ground.' we did this, but for unknown reason, push crew pushed aircraft back partially onto ramp taxiway directly behind gate xaa. As soon as we realized this, we informed ground control, who was aware already. Recommend that gates xaa, xab, and xac require clearance, rather than 'advise' ground prior to pushback.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B737 TUG DRIVER PUSHED ACFT INTO ACTIVE TXWY.
Narrative: PUSHBACK FROM ALL X GATES AT PHL IS 'ADVISE GND.' WE DID THIS, BUT FOR UNKNOWN REASON, PUSH CREW PUSHED ACFT BACK PARTIALLY ONTO RAMP TXWY DIRECTLY BEHIND GATE XAA. AS SOON AS WE REALIZED THIS, WE INFORMED GND CTL, WHO WAS AWARE ALREADY. RECOMMEND THAT GATES XAA, XAB, AND XAC REQUIRE CLRNC, RATHER THAN 'ADVISE' GND PRIOR TO PUSHBACK.
