Narrative:
Immediately after leveloff, smell of smoke detected, as well as small amounts of smoke seen coming from the lower center of pilot's instrument panel. Master switch set to off position, opened pilot's side window to ventilate cabin. No circuit breaker popped, no further smoke or fumes detected. Switches turned back on, one at a time, no further incident. Precautionary landing made at avx.

Title: C182 PLT HAS SMOKE IN COCKPIT.
Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEVELOFF, SMELL OF SMOKE DETECTED, AS WELL AS SMALL AMOUNTS OF SMOKE SEEN COMING FROM THE LOWER CTR OF PLT'S INST PANEL. MASTER SWITCH SET TO OFF POS, OPENED PLT'S SIDE WINDOW TO VENTILATE CABIN. NO CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED, NO FURTHER SMOKE OR FUMES DETECTED. SWITCHES TURNED BACK ON, ONE AT A TIME, NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
