Narrative:

Unknown to the crew, just prior to push, the belt loader came into contact with the #2 engine intake cowl at about the 7 O'clock position, looking from front to rear. The arrival into lgb normal. I did the through flight walkaround, noting nothing unusual. Return flight lgb/phx uneventful. Parked at gate. We had an aircraft swap for the leg to den. About 15 mins later, I saw the captain who was taking flight to sat. This captain told me there was skin damage to the #2 engine intake. I immediately proceeded to that aircraft to see for myself. There was a scrape on the engine inlet. I do not know how I missed seeing this on the ground in lgb. For my part, this incident has inspired renewed vigilance and attention to detail in all aspects of our operations here at air carrier.
