Narrative:
In-flight, the propeller delaminated, shed pieces, causing vibration to the ship and engine. Attempted shutdown of the engine. Contacted tower (no avail), landed lake city airport. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a ryan pt-22, restored world war 2 primary trainer. The reporter said the propeller is made of laminated wood and came apart in-flight.

Title: A RYAN PT-22 IN CRUISE AT 2500 FT DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO PROP DELAMINATION, SHEDDING OF PIECES AND SEVERE VIBRATION.
Narrative: INFLT, THE PROP DELAMINATED, SHED PIECES, CAUSING VIBRATION TO THE SHIP AND ENG. ATTEMPTED SHUTDOWN OF THE ENG. CONTACTED TWR (NO AVAIL), LANDED LAKE CITY ARPT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A RYAN PT-22, RESTORED WORLD WAR 2 PRIMARY TRAINER. THE RPTR SAID THE PROP IS MADE OF LAMINATED WOOD AND CAME APART INFLT.
