Narrative:
Normal landing -- not a hard landing, taxi in a ways and then a thump on l-hand side of aircraft. Both tires were totally flat with gouges missing, steel showing, aircraft tipped at left angle, people deplaned through aft airstairs to buses to go to terminal. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that there was no panic among the passenger, because the captain told them that the fire trucks that met the plane were a precaution. When the cabin crew got off the plane, they were surprised that there were such gaping holes. The metal on the tires on taxi didn't cause enough friction to start a fire, she said. The captain never figured out what happened to blow the tires.
