Narrative:
On climb out passing 2000 ft, the right engine began to compressor stall. Throttle was restarted to idle and engine stabilized. Declared an emergency. Requested vectors to jfk. Then engine remained stable in idle until descending on GS in jfk. At which time we had intermittent engine fail warnings. We landed 4000 pounds overweight with the engine still operating.
