Narrative:

We took off from bfa (boyne falls mi), proceeded normally along our flight plan route. From over lake michigan, we were cleared direct to green bay. We were always in contact with center and were handed off normally to green bay approach. Upon approaching the grb airport, we were cleared by approach for a visual to runway 36 and were handed off normally to the tower. Which cleared us to land. About 1/2 mi out I reaffirmed our clearance to land and the tower again stated we were cleared to land. During our landing rollout, the tower called us twice saying 'cardinal nxxx (static)....cardinal nxxx (static)' (nothing but static after the call sign). I then called them and stated they had static after my call sign. He then yelled out 'cardinal nxxx hold short of runway 24! Hold short of runway 24!' I acknowledged the hold and held short of runway 24. He then cleared a light twin to take off. After being told to cross runway 24 and head for parking, I asked him what the problem was. He stated we had been listed as NORDO for quite a while. That was pure hogwash and he had to have known it, having cleared us to land twice! There were several other cardinals going into grb or osh with the nxxx prefix, so someone could have assumed it was us -- even though we were in constant contact.

THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER CARDINALS GOING INTO GRB OR OSH WITH THE NXXX PREFIX, SO SOMEONE COULD HAVE ASSUMED IT WAS US -- EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IN CONSTANT CONTACT.
