Narrative:
After departing hou airport for a repositioning flight for maintenance to iah airport, we leveled off at 2000 ft MSL and were assigned a heading for vectors to ILS runway 27 at iah. We then experienced a loss of electrical power on the left and right essential busses. The bus tie did not pop. We lost both communications and navs. I was able to reset the left bus for about 1 min to let approach know the situation. We lost the left bus again about 4 mi from the airport. We landed with no other problems. Maintenance found the circuit breakers (bus tie, l-hand ess, and r-hand ess) to be worn and were replaced. Aircraft was returned to service.
