Narrative:
Jet blast caused cargo container to hit parked aircraft. After landing runway 18R, we taxied #1 engine to spot a and held for 10 mins for spot B. Ramp told us that gate C is open and that will be our new gate. We taxied to gate C. I noticed only a broken taxi line with identify block C, the narrow body lead-in line -- identify block C was visually obscured by a cargo pallet on top of same. I assumed that ramp was going to accommodate us in the widebody transport position. I turned airplane towards jetbridge, then held away approximately 1 and 1/2 aircraft lengths until guide men arrive. We waited another 5 mins, ramp told us we were at the wrong line. He told us a cargo pallet is on the C line. In order to align aircraft to same, we need to be 50 yards to the south. We asked ramp if we can make right or left turn. He stated ramp was ours. I elected to turn left 180 degrees then right 180 degrees for alignment on C line and waited 5 mins for final guidance. During turns, I did not see containers that were a threat. I did not notice if they were locked in position.

Title: MD80 BLEW CARGO CONTAINERS INTO ANOTHER ACFT.
Narrative: JET BLAST CAUSED CARGO CONTAINER TO HIT PARKED ACFT. AFTER LNDG RWY 18R, WE TAXIED #1 ENG TO SPOT A AND HELD FOR 10 MINS FOR SPOT B. RAMP TOLD US THAT GATE C IS OPEN AND THAT WILL BE OUR NEW GATE. WE TAXIED TO GATE C. I NOTICED ONLY A BROKEN TAXI LINE WITH IDENT BLOCK C, THE NARROW BODY LEAD-IN LINE -- IDENT BLOCK C WAS VISUALLY OBSCURED BY A CARGO PALLET ON TOP OF SAME. I ASSUMED THAT RAMP WAS GOING TO ACCOMMODATE US IN THE WDB POS. I TURNED AIRPLANE TOWARDS JETBRIDGE, THEN HELD AWAY APPROX 1 AND 1/2 ACFT LENGTHS UNTIL GUIDE MEN ARRIVE. WE WAITED ANOTHER 5 MINS, RAMP TOLD US WE WERE AT THE WRONG LINE. HE TOLD US A CARGO PALLET IS ON THE C LINE. IN ORDER TO ALIGN ACFT TO SAME, WE NEED TO BE 50 YARDS TO THE S. WE ASKED RAMP IF WE CAN MAKE R OR L TURN. HE STATED RAMP WAS OURS. I ELECTED TO TURN L 180 DEGS THEN R 180 DEGS FOR ALIGNMENT ON C LINE AND WAITED 5 MINS FOR FINAL GUIDANCE. DURING TURNS, I DID NOT SEE CONTAINERS THAT WERE A THREAT. I DID NOT NOTICE IF THEY WERE LOCKED IN POS.
