Narrative:

Immediately upon departure from wvi runway 20, at 600 ft MSL, after reduction to climb power and prior to turning left crosswind, I found a C172 flying straight at me on a collision course. He was well positioned for a straight-in approach for landing on runway 2. VFR traffic was using runway 20. I turned right, he turned left, and we were still on a collision course. I turned left and initiated a dive. I resumed climb after I passed beneath him. He continued his left turn. I had no time for radio communication. I heard none from him.
