Narrative:
Received clearance for the ILS runway 17 myr and contact tower. Intercepted the localizer and started the final approach. Simulated engine failure with my throttle and the student became distraction. I was prepared to contact tower when I asked the student to set zero thrust on the simulated inoperative engine. I was distraction when the student reduced the throttle to idle on the operating engine, placing the BE76 in an unusual altitude. During recovery, I failed to contact tower. After the touch-and-go, I contacted departure. To prevent this in the future, I plan to set zero thrust on the inoperative engine myself.

Narrative: RECEIVED CLRNC FOR THE ILS RWY 17 MYR AND CONTACT TWR. INTERCEPTED THE LOC AND STARTED THE FINAL APCH. SIMULATED ENG FAILURE WITH MY THROTTLE AND THE STUDENT BECAME DISTR. I WAS PREPARED TO CONTACT TWR WHEN I ASKED THE STUDENT TO SET ZERO THRUST ON THE SIMULATED INOP ENG. I WAS DISTR WHEN THE STUDENT REDUCED THE THROTTLE TO IDLE ON THE OPERATING ENG, PLACING THE BE76 IN AN UNUSUAL ALT. DURING RECOVERY, I FAILED TO CONTACT TWR. AFTER THE TOUCH-AND-GO, I CONTACTED DEP. TO PREVENT THIS IN THE FUTURE, I PLAN TO SET ZERO THRUST ON THE INOP ENG MYSELF.
