Narrative:

After being cleared to hold on runway 4L, we were cleared for takeoff. An air carrier DC10 was cleared to cross runway 4L. We discontinued the power application and applied brakes. The DC10 crossed in front of us. As it was on the runway (crossing), ewr tower canceled our takeoff clearance.

Narrative: AFTER BEING CLRED TO HOLD ON RWY 4L, WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. AN ACR DC10 WAS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 4L. WE DISCONTINUED THE PWR APPLICATION AND APPLIED BRAKES. THE DC10 CROSSED IN FRONT OF US. AS IT WAS ON THE RWY (XING), EWR TWR CANCELED OUR TKOF CLRNC.
