Narrative:

Fuel leak from right wing after pushout. While holding short of runway 18L awaiting line-up clearance, received call from flight attendant that he observed some kind of fluid coming from right outboard wing area. Sent first officer back to investigate. His report that there was indeed a very significant amount of what appeared to be fuel coming from the area near the right wing fuel vent. We secured the right engine with the fire handle and fuel shutoff switch and called for fire equipment. Ran fuel checklist, and even with engine secured and right wing and center tank fuel pumps off the leak continued. Briefed purser, then PA to passenger. Shortly thereafter, fire equipment arrived. Confirmed leak was fuel and advised that it would not pose a problem if we taxied back to gate to deplane passenger. We requested they follow us in to the gate and monitor leak until passenger deplaned and fuel leak stopped. Taxi in was uneventful followed by expeditious deplaning through forward entry door. Maintenance team met aircraft and began defueling right wing tank in order to stop fuel leak.
