Narrative:
Received clearance on cak clearance delivery frequency. Reception was very static-filled (on both my radios). Clearance delivery could hear me ok. Took twice to get clearance. Did so, told them I'd take off VFR. When I contacted akron departure, they were surprised, saying clearance delivery had asked me to hold for release. I neither heard nor acknowledged this from clearance delivery. Conditions were excellent VFR. No traffic conflicts existed locally, nor were any pointed out after akron handled me.

Title: A BE36 PLT ATTEMPTS TO GET HIS IFR CLRNC IN THE AIR AFTER TKOF FROM BJJ, OH.
Narrative: RECEIVED CLRNC ON CAK CLRNC DELIVERY FREQ. RECEPTION WAS VERY STATIC-FILLED (ON BOTH MY RADIOS). CLRNC DELIVERY COULD HEAR ME OK. TOOK TWICE TO GET CLRNC. DID SO, TOLD THEM I'D TAKE OFF VFR. WHEN I CONTACTED AKRON DEP, THEY WERE SURPRISED, SAYING CLRNC DELIVERY HAD ASKED ME TO HOLD FOR RELEASE. I NEITHER HEARD NOR ACKNOWLEDGED THIS FROM CLRNC DELIVERY. CONDITIONS WERE EXCELLENT VFR. NO TFC CONFLICTS EXISTED LOCALLY, NOR WERE ANY POINTED OUT AFTER AKRON HANDLED ME.
