Narrative:
After I landed, I taxied to the terminal where a marshaller directed me to a new unfamiliar ramp area. I followed her instructions and I verified with my first officer that the right wing was clear as I turned in to line up with her. After engine shutdown she informed me that I had touched the barbwire which was on top of the fence in a 45 degree angle inward. My first officer and I did not see the barbwire and we didn't feel the contact. After deplaning the passenger, I inspected the winglet that touched the fence. I noticed that the paint was scraped off in the mid section of the winglet and the fiberglass was exposed. However, the fiberglass was not cut or shredded. I called dispatch and they connected me with maintenance. I explained what had happened and he told me that the aircraft was safe (airworthy) and that I could continue the operation. I believe this incident could have been prevented if the marshaller would have not positioned herself in reference to the 'T' from the other side where we usually park. On the opposite side, we have at least 6 more ft to the nearest obstacle. Also, lead-in lines to the parking spot would have prevented this incident.

Title: ACR TURBOPROP HITS FENCE WITH WINGLET DURING PARKING CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE WINGTIP.
Narrative: AFTER I LANDED, I TAXIED TO THE TERMINAL WHERE A MARSHALLER DIRECTED ME TO A NEW UNFAMILIAR RAMP AREA. I FOLLOWED HER INSTRUCTIONS AND I VERIFIED WITH MY FO THAT THE R WING WAS CLR AS I TURNED IN TO LINE UP WITH HER. AFTER ENG SHUTDOWN SHE INFORMED ME THAT I HAD TOUCHED THE BARBWIRE WHICH WAS ON TOP OF THE FENCE IN A 45 DEG ANGLE INWARD. MY FO AND I DID NOT SEE THE BARBWIRE AND WE DIDN'T FEEL THE CONTACT. AFTER DEPLANING THE PAX, I INSPECTED THE WINGLET THAT TOUCHED THE FENCE. I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT WAS SCRAPED OFF IN THE MID SECTION OF THE WINGLET AND THE FIBERGLASS WAS EXPOSED. HOWEVER, THE FIBERGLASS WAS NOT CUT OR SHREDDED. I CALLED DISPATCH AND THEY CONNECTED ME WITH MAINT. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE ACFT WAS SAFE (AIRWORTHY) AND THAT I COULD CONTINUE THE OP. I BELIEVE THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF THE MARSHALLER WOULD HAVE NOT POSITIONED HERSELF IN REF TO THE 'T' FROM THE OTHER SIDE WHERE WE USUALLY PARK. ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE, WE HAVE AT LEAST 6 MORE FT TO THE NEAREST OBSTACLE. ALSO, LEAD-IN LINES TO THE PARKING SPOT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS INCIDENT.
