Narrative:
2 flight plans presented in operations at san. One for FL370, the other FL290 for our flight to ord on oct/xa/99. After talking to dispatch, the captain elected to fly at FL290. He told dispatch and signed the flight plan. Our departure clearance cleared us brdry ipl J18 gbn. Gbn appeared on both the FL370 and FL290 flight plans. After gbn, the 2 flight plans differ -- FL370 taking us to cim, FL290 to lvs. Approximately 30 mi west of lvs, center called and asked if we were direct cim. We read our FL290 route. ATC said that was not what he had. Talking to dispatch we found out they had not filed the correct flight plan. We read the route we had to ATC and resolved the situation. No problems anticipated.
