Narrative:
Flying a cherokee 140 from deland airport, fl, I was inbound for touch-and-go at daytona runway 7R. I was cleared to land and executed the landing normally. I departed straight out and saw traffic also departing on runway 7L. Both my aircraft and the other traffic continued straight out until I was told to turn to on course heading. The information that I initially told the controller on initial contact was for 1 touch-and-go, then direct to omn. I turned on course to omn and the controller came back with 'why would you turn left if you were entering a right downwind for runway 7R?' I then spoke to another controller who said that the information about my continuing to omn was not passed on. He vectored me in for 1 more touch-and-go on runway 7L then I landed and took off back to omn at 1000 ft AGL. There was adequate separation between my aircraft and the departing traffic and no real danger was present. The other pilot continued a turn just as I did.
