Narrative:
TCASII indicated traffic alert 400 ft high 6-8 mi, followed by 100 ft, then 0 ft. ATC called for immediate descent to FL240. After descent was initiated, TCASII commanded climb. We then began a turning climb and observed aircraft near our altitude within 1-2 mi. Supplemental information from acn 453674: we observed the conflict traffic pass off our left near our altitude. We were level at FL245 at that time and once cleared by ATC, climbed back up to FL250.
