Narrative:
Crew briefed SID for one runway and another runway was assigned for takeoff. The PF was awaiting the PNF to call the right turn upon reaching 1500 ft per the SID. The PNF instead asked controller if he wanted us to turn. Controller gave us a turn different from published SID. PNF was not sure if we were expected to follow SID even though controller had cleared us to a certain altitude. No other unusual operation occurred. I do not believe any special handling occurred. However, the confusion over which SID we were on led to a delay in following the SID procedure.
