Narrative:
Air carrier flight xyz nov/xa/99, ZZZ-fll, had 2 MEL's added after the flight dispatch release was sent and original dispatcher relieved. L1011 maintenance coordinator called for dispatch approval for MEL 25-21-01A for flight attendant jump seat 1R to be added to fdr. Then asked for same MEL for flight attendant jump seat 1L to be added. He explained that flight attendants were to take adjacent first class seats with passenger displaced. The crew and dispatcher questioned the MEL and were convinced that maintenance's interpretation of the MEL was correct. The flight traveled to fll. I reread the MEL and asked fellow dispatchers for their interpretation. We agreed that the maintenance coordinator was incorrect. One of the seats should have been repaired in atl. A new crew in fll called to question the MEL. We instructed maintenance to repair 1 flight attendant jump seat in fll before flight departed. The MEL in question has been forwarded to the flight control MEL specialist for his review and clarification.

Title: AN L1011 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE L AND R FORWARD ENTRANCE DOOR FLT ATTENDANT'S JUMP SEATS DEFERRED AS INOP IN CONFLICT WITH THE MEL.
Narrative: ACR FLT XYZ NOV/XA/99, ZZZ-FLL, HAD 2 MEL'S ADDED AFTER THE FLT DISPATCH RELEASE WAS SENT AND ORIGINAL DISPATCHER RELIEVED. L1011 MAINT COORDINATOR CALLED FOR DISPATCH APPROVAL FOR MEL 25-21-01A FOR FLT ATTENDANT JUMP SEAT 1R TO BE ADDED TO FDR. THEN ASKED FOR SAME MEL FOR FLT ATTENDANT JUMP SEAT 1L TO BE ADDED. HE EXPLAINED THAT FLT ATTENDANTS WERE TO TAKE ADJACENT FIRST CLASS SEATS WITH PAX DISPLACED. THE CREW AND DISPATCHER QUESTIONED THE MEL AND WERE CONVINCED THAT MAINT'S INTERP OF THE MEL WAS CORRECT. THE FLT TRAVELED TO FLL. I REREAD THE MEL AND ASKED FELLOW DISPATCHERS FOR THEIR INTERP. WE AGREED THAT THE MAINT COORDINATOR WAS INCORRECT. ONE OF THE SEATS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED IN ATL. A NEW CREW IN FLL CALLED TO QUESTION THE MEL. WE INSTRUCTED MAINT TO REPAIR 1 FLT ATTENDANT JUMP SEAT IN FLL BEFORE FLT DEPARTED. THE MEL IN QUESTION HAS BEEN FORWARDED TO THE FLT CTL MEL SPECIALIST FOR HIS REVIEW AND CLARIFICATION.
