Narrative:
The entire flight crew arrived at the gate 40 mins prior to the scheduled departure time. I accomplished the interior and exterior preflight inspections in accordance with company procedures. The PIC also viewed the aircraft surfaces from the jetway door and the cockpit windows. Prior to the passenger boarding, he also entered the cabin and viewed the wing surfaces from the mid cabin windows and the tail surfaces from the rear service doors. We discussed deicing and determined deicing was not necessary. Engine start and pre taxi procedures were accomplished in accordance with company procedures and we taxied for takeoff on the active runway. We were notified later in the day that a non company person had informed our company personnel that we should have accomplished deicing procedures. I believe we were the first aircraft to taxi and take off from the airport and did not hear any other aircraft asking for or accomplishing deicing procedures.
