Narrative:
I had an FAA inspector get on the aircraft in sat, tx. He checked the captain's paperwork (medical/FAA license). We took off, and then the inspector asked to see my paperwork. I keep my paperwork in an organizer. I could not find it in the air, so looked around the cockpit after we landed. I had left it at home. We printed out a temporary medical/license when we got to dallas. I now carry my license/medical in my wallet.
