Narrative:
During gear retraction on takeoff, the nose door open warning message illuminated and 'nose door' aural cam on. We performed the emergency QRH procedures for nose door open, normal checklist and procedures, and declared an emergency. We contacted our company and informed them of our situation. We landed without incident and had the fire department check the nose area for possible damage and taxied back without further event.
