Narrative:

I observed an air carrier X B737 overtake and pass an atx Y C208 on 5 mi final for runway 24R/left at lax. This situation constitutes a loss of separation outlined in chapter 7 of FAA handbook 7110.65. I brought this situation to the attention of the controller well before the loss of separation occurred. The controller took no action to correct or avoid the developing problem.

Title: SCT CTLR OBSERVES A CONFLICTING SIT BTWN A B737 AND C208. OBSERVING CTLR ALERTS EFFECTED CTLR, WHO ALLEGEDLY TAKES NO ACTION.

Narrative: I OBSERVED AN ACR X B737 OVERTAKE AND PASS AN ATX Y C208 ON 5 MI FINAL FOR RWY 24R/L AT LAX. THIS SIT CONSTITUTES A LOSS OF SEPARATION OUTLINED IN CHAPTER 7 OF FAA HANDBOOK 7110.65. I BROUGHT THIS SIT TO THE ATTN OF THE CTLR WELL BEFORE THE LOSS OF SEPARATION OCCURRED. THE CTLR TOOK NO ACTION TO CORRECT OR AVOID THE DEVELOPING PROB.
