Aircraft X, an MO21, departed crw runway 33 and was issued a vector to join V115, maintain 5000 ft. Transponder was inoperative. Aircraft X went into ZID airspace without handoff. ZID was holding aircraft at 5000 ft, vicinity of versi. Aircraft X acquired approximately 12 mi southwest jpu on V115.
