Aircraft was going to be in conflict with other aircraft in the next sector. I made a decision to descend him to resolve the situation. Traffic was issued and descent clearance. Reply was 'roger, we see him, we're diving below him.' aircraft reported level at FL270 approximately 6 seconds after separation was lost.

Title: ZOB ISSUES DSCNT CLRNC TO AN F100 TO RESOLVE A CONFLICT WITH A DC9 BY DSNDING THE F100. ACTION WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TIME TO ENSURE SEPARATION.
Narrative: ACFT WAS GOING TO BE IN CONFLICT WITH OTHER ACFT IN THE NEXT SECTOR. I MADE A DECISION TO DSND HIM TO RESOLVE THE SIT. TFC WAS ISSUED AND DSCNT CLRNC. REPLY WAS 'ROGER, WE SEE HIM, WE'RE DIVING BELOW HIM.' ACFT RPTED LEVEL AT FL270 APPROX 6 SECONDS AFTER SEPARATION WAS LOST.
