Narrative:

We were flight from elp to dal. We had been cleared the knead.knead 4 into dal. Around glen rose NAVAID (jen) we were given a vector and speed reduction for traffic on our descent. I then went off frequency to get our gate information. Due to a gate and unplanned plane change, I was off ATC frequency for approximately 2 mins. During the time I was off, we were given a change to our clearance and frequency. When I returned to ATC, we had started a left turn to knead. Within a few seconds, ATC assigned us a left turn to 350 degrees. Approximately 1 min later, we were vectored right to 080 degrees, vectors for the visual to runway 31R at dal. No comments were made by ATC, and the remainder of the flight went normal.

Narrative: WE WERE FLT FROM ELP TO DAL. WE HAD BEEN CLRED THE KNEAD.KNEAD 4 INTO DAL. AROUND GLEN ROSE NAVAID (JEN) WE WERE GIVEN A VECTOR AND SPD REDUCTION FOR TFC ON OUR DSCNT. I THEN WENT OFF FREQ TO GET OUR GATE INFO. DUE TO A GATE AND UNPLANNED PLANE CHANGE, I WAS OFF ATC FREQ FOR APPROX 2 MINS. DURING THE TIME I WAS OFF, WE WERE GIVEN A CHANGE TO OUR CLRNC AND FREQ. WHEN I RETURNED TO ATC, WE HAD STARTED A L TURN TO KNEAD. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS, ATC ASSIGNED US A L TURN TO 350 DEGS. APPROX 1 MIN LATER, WE WERE VECTORED R TO 080 DEGS, VECTORS FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 31R AT DAL. NO COMMENTS WERE MADE BY ATC, AND THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT WENT NORMAL.
