Narrative:
On short final, ATC advised WX conditions went from light freezing rain to moderate freezing rain. With the runway in sight, we continued the approach to a normal landing. In my judgement, I believe to continue the approach was the prudent and safe course to take, as the departure end of runway and points east appeared to have heavier precipitation. Supplemental information from acn 461761: continued flight/go around would have exposed the aircrew, aircraft and passenger to the unnecessary risk of flight operations in freezing rain that would have been encountered during portions of the climb out.

Title: FLC OF ACR B737-300 EXPERIENCES CHANGE FROM LIGHT TO HVY FREEZING RAIN ON SHORT FINAL TO ATL.
Narrative: ON SHORT FINAL, ATC ADVISED WX CONDITIONS WENT FROM LIGHT FREEZING RAIN TO MODERATE FREEZING RAIN. WITH THE RWY IN SIGHT, WE CONTINUED THE APCH TO A NORMAL LNDG. IN MY JUDGEMENT, I BELIEVE TO CONTINUE THE APCH WAS THE PRUDENT AND SAFE COURSE TO TAKE, AS THE DEP END OF RWY AND POINTS E APPEARED TO HAVE HEAVIER PRECIP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 461761: CONTINUED FLT/GAR WOULD HAVE EXPOSED THE AIRCREW, ACFT AND PAX TO THE UNNECESSARY RISK OF FLT OPS IN FREEZING RAIN THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED DURING PORTIONS OF THE CLBOUT.
