Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 32L at T10 intersection. While still on the taxiway as we rolled on to runway 32L and added power for takeoff, we saw a BAE146 on short approach for runway 9L. I rotated the airplane and passed over the top of jet. We probably missed them by more than 500 ft. No mention of this was made by the airline crew or ATC. Maybe this is common practice at ord, but I feel this is unsafe. Looking back, I should have aborted the takeoff and waited for the BAE146 to land.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF CE560 QUESTIONS THE COMMON PRACTICE AT ORD TO HAVE ACFT DEPART RWY 32L AT THE SAME TIME ARRIVING ACFT ARE USING RWY 9L. IN THIS SIT, THE CE560 HAD JUST ROTATED AS IT PASSED ABOUT 500 FT ABOVE THE BAE146 ON APCH TO RWY 9L.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 32L AT T10 INTXN. WHILE STILL ON THE TXWY AS WE ROLLED ON TO RWY 32L AND ADDED PWR FOR TKOF, WE SAW A BAE146 ON SHORT APCH FOR RWY 9L. LOOKING BACK, I SHOULD HAVE ABORTED THE TKOF AND WAITED FOR THE BAE146 TO LAND.
