Narrative:
Flight departed runway 7 VFR, directed right turn to 220 degree heading and contact departure. After 4 tries departure finally responded and told me to stay clear class B until further instructions. Elapsed time, 3 mins before picking up my IFR clearance and departure through class B. (Unknown whether or not a violation occurred on given heading and altitude.) controller was busy at time, but seemingly not that busy. After getting IFR en route clearance balance of flight was uneventful.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DEP FROM VGT WITH A VECTOR HEADING AND A DELAY IN CONTACT WITH L30 TRACON LEADS PLT TO BELIEVE HE MAY HAVE ENTERED CLASS B AIRSPACE IN LAS VEGAS, NV.
Narrative: FLT DEPARTED RWY 7 VFR, DIRECTED R TURN TO 220 DEG HDG AND CONTACT DEP. AFTER 4 TRIES DEP FINALLY RESPONDED AND TOLD ME TO STAY CLR CLASS B UNTIL FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. ELAPSED TIME, 3 MINS BEFORE PICKING UP MY IFR CLRNC AND DEP THROUGH CLASS B. (UNKNOWN WHETHER OR NOT A VIOLATION OCCURRED ON GIVEN HEADING AND ALT.) CTLR WAS BUSY AT TIME, BUT SEEMINGLY NOT THAT BUSY. AFTER GETTING IFR ENRTE CLRNC BALANCE OF FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL.
