Narrative:
Landed lax at approximately XA00 on runway 7R. Cleared at taxiway H and was told by lax tower to back taxi on runway 25R/7L and clear at taxiway K and reference an air carrier L1011 on the inner taxiway B. As we cleared on taxiway K and stopped, waiting to talk to ground control on 121.75, we noticed a B747 approaching our aircraft on the right and finally stopped very close to our aircraft. If the B747 had continued, he would have hit our aircraft. Finally, ground told us to taxi ahead of the B747 and there was no further problem. I feel there was extremely poor coordination between tower and ground. Also, I noticed a change in ground control voices after we were cleared to the gate.

Title: AN MD80S CAPT PERCEIVED THAT LAX GND AND TWR WERE NOT COORDINATING WELL WITH EACH OTHER, CAUSING A B747 TO TAXI VERY CLOSE TO HIS ACFT AND STOPPING AT THE LAST MOMENT.
Narrative: LANDED LAX AT APPROX XA00 ON RWY 7R. CLRED AT TXWY H AND WAS TOLD BY LAX TWR TO BACK TAXI ON RWY 25R/7L AND CLR AT TXWY K AND REF AN ACR L1011 ON THE INNER TXWY B. AS WE CLRED ON TXWY K AND STOPPED, WAITING TO TALK TO GND CTL ON 121.75, WE NOTICED A B747 APCHING OUR ACFT ON THE R AND FINALLY STOPPED VERY CLOSE TO OUR ACFT. IF THE B747 HAD CONTINUED, HE WOULD HAVE HIT OUR ACFT. FINALLY, GND TOLD US TO TAXI AHEAD OF THE B747 AND THERE WAS NO FURTHER PROB. I FEEL THERE WAS EXTREMELY POOR COORD BTWN TWR AND GND. ALSO, I NOTICED A CHANGE IN GND CTL VOICES AFTER WE WERE CLRED TO THE GATE.
