Narrative:
On jan/xa/00, I served on board a flight as a first officer on air carrier flight X from eau to msp. I found out approximately 2.5 weeks later, that the flight attendant allowed a 27 month old baby to situation on an adult's lap. This is contrary to far. This incident occurred without my knowledge, nor the captain's. Had the captain or I known that was occurring, we would not have allowed it to have happened. In my normal duties, I don't have direct control over the seating arrangements in the back of the aircraft in the cabin. Had I been informed of the situation, either the captain or I would have taken appropriate action to situate the child as to not contradict the FARS. However, we had no information presented to the 'flight deck.' as far as I can tell, this situation should have been dealt with by the gate agents prior to boarding the aircraft.
