Narrative:
At the initial power application for takeoff runway 23L at tys, the takeoff warning horn sounded. Captain reduced thrust and wiggled flap/slat handle. The horn silenced and flaps verified in 5 degree extension by indicator, slats indicated extended by blue 'slat extend' light. Takeoff continued. Maintenance write-up on system at destination airport.

Title: A DC9-30 PIC WIGGLES THE FLAP HANDLE DURING A PWR REDUCTION FOR THE TKOF WARNING HORN AND CONTINUES THE TKOF WITH THE WARNING SILENCED AT TYS, TN.
Narrative: AT THE INITIAL PWR APPLICATION FOR TKOF RWY 23L AT TYS, THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. CAPT REDUCED THRUST AND WIGGLED FLAP/SLAT HANDLE.
