Narrative:
Location: dfw runway 18L. After landing runway 13R, dfw tower instructed us to use taxiway a and monitor 124.15. We then were given instructions to cross runway 18R and snug up to air carrier Y. They were monitoring the same frequency we were. We did as tower asked us so they could get an aircraft across behind us and give them enough room to clear. Shortly thereafter, they gave air carrier Y crossing instructions and air carrier Y used so much power that the nose gear on our aircraft was scrubbing on the ground and almost came off the ground. Their aircraft was all the way across the active runway before we could even push up the throttles. Excessive is an understatement. Passenger and flight attendants questioned what had happened and if everything was ok. This could have been a lot worse if we had been in a smaller aircraft. The tower supervisor said he was also going to follow up on this.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN FK100 IS BLASTED BY A JET THAT HAD BEEN HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 18L. THE FK100 WAS TUCKED IN CLOSE AS PER ATC REQUEST AND SUFFERED SEVERE VIBRATIONS FROM THE EXTREME PWR USED FOR BREAKAWAY THRUST AT DFW, TX.
Narrative: LOCATION: DFW RWY 18L. AFTER LNDG RWY 13R, DFW TWR INSTRUCTED US TO USE TXWY A AND MONITOR 124.15. WE THEN WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO CROSS RWY 18R AND SNUG UP TO ACR Y. THEY WERE MONITORING THE SAME FREQ WE WERE. WE DID AS TWR ASKED US SO THEY COULD GET AN ACFT ACROSS BEHIND US AND GIVE THEM ENOUGH ROOM TO CLR. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THEY GAVE ACR Y XING INSTRUCTIONS AND ACR Y USED SO MUCH PWR THAT THE NOSE GEAR ON OUR ACFT WAS SCRUBBING ON THE GND AND ALMOST CAME OFF THE GND. THEIR ACFT WAS ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE ACTIVE RWY BEFORE WE COULD EVEN PUSH UP THE THROTTLES. EXCESSIVE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. PAX AND FLT ATTENDANTS QUESTIONED WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND IF EVERYTHING WAS OK. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE IF WE HAD BEEN IN A SMALLER ACFT. THE TWR SUPVR SAID HE WAS ALSO GOING TO FOLLOW UP ON THIS.
