Narrative:

I turned aircraft #1 40 degrees right of course to achieve lateral separation. At point I realized did not have lateral separation, I amended aircraft #1 altitude to maintain vertical 14000 ft. Aircraft #1 descended to 13700 ft before returning to 14000 ft. My perception of turn needed was off (lateral) and my corrective actions were late (vertical).
