Narrative:
On flight, mar/xa/00 at approximately AM35, we experienced oil quantity loss on #1 engine and performed in-flight engine shutdown. With coordination and concurrence of air carrier flight control, we made an emergency en route diversion to las airport. We declared an emergency with ZLC and made a single engine ILS approach in visual conditions to a landing at las. The single engine condition was aggravated by the fact that we concurrently lost our rudder trim and were not able to trim our rudder. All normal and emergency checklists were accomplished. We made an uneventful landing in las and we terminated our emergency status. No injuries to passenger or crew occurred. There was no damage to aircraft other than the mechanical malfunction with the engine that resulted in the loss of the oil quantity.

Title: A B757-200 LOSES ITS L ENG AND DIVERTS TO LAS. 1 INOP RUDDER TRIM MADE THE FLYING OF THE ACFT MORE DIFFICULT. LAS, NV.
Narrative: ON FLT, MAR/XA/00 AT APPROX AM35, WE EXPERIENCED OIL QUANTITY LOSS ON #1 ENG AND PERFORMED INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN. WITH COORD AND CONCURRENCE OF ACR FLT CTL, WE MADE AN EMER ENRTE DIVERSION TO LAS ARPT. WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH ZLC AND MADE A SINGLE ENG ILS APCH IN VISUAL CONDITIONS TO A LNDG AT LAS. THE SINGLE ENG CONDITION WAS AGGRAVATED BY THE FACT THAT WE CONCURRENTLY LOST OUR RUDDER TRIM AND WERE NOT ABLE TO TRIM OUR RUDDER. ALL NORMAL AND EMER CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED. WE MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG IN LAS AND WE TERMINATED OUR EMER STATUS. NO INJURIES TO PAX OR CREW OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO ACFT OTHER THAN THE MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION WITH THE ENG THAT RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF THE OIL QUANTITY.
