Narrative:
On second solo, in rollout phase, used excessive braking with pedals uneven which caused aircraft to veer to edge of runway. Made contact with runway edge light which at this airport sticks up in excess of 3 ft. This caused damage to left aircraft fuel tank and demolished edge light (light required replacement). Believed this to be caused by excess braking and by neglecting to reduce power to zero at touchdown. Was late for work and had soloed for the first time earlier that day.
