Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 36R at dfw airport. At about 70 KTS I noticed another jet beginning to cross our runway. I knew I would have to abort the takeoff and began to speak to the first officer when tower canceled our takeoff clearance at which time I initiated an abort. A DC9 crossed the runway well downfield and at no time did we come close to it except after clearing the runway. The tower controller said the jet was on another radio frequency. I believe this was a potentially dangerous situation that needs resolution.
