Narrative:

During the afternoon on mar/fri/00, I was returning VFR from evansville (evv) to my home airport laporte, in (ppo). The course from evv to ppo is 077 degrees and I normally miss the class D airspace at terre haute. I wasn't paying complete attention as to my position, when I noticed terre haute I was due east of the airport and very close. I immediately turned east, put my GPS on huf and it read 5.1 mi. So I'm not sure I went into terre haute's class D airspace or not. I was probably at the 5.0 NM point or perhaps 4.9 NM. I was not talking to hulman approach. I will watch my position more carefully in the future.
