Narrative:
Crew encountered trailing edge disagreement light on final. Crew elected to go around to appraise situation and run checklist. During go around, momentary distraction due to communications with tower, confirming nature of malfunction, and verifying status of mode control panel led to 300 ft altitude deviation from assigned altitude. Immediate correction made. No traffic conflict during deviation. Subsequent approach and landing uneventful.
