Narrative:
At approximately XA15 I departed lantana (lna) fl, VFR no flight plan. Cruising at 1200 ft MSL to stuart, fl (sua). At XB30 I called stuart tower 10 mi south and was advised to report 4 mi on a right base for runway 7. I called 4 mi out on right base and was cleared to land on runway 7. During my right turn to final, the A36, descending from 2000-1000 ft overtook me from above and behind. The bottom surface of his left wing struck the top of my left tip 50 gal fuel tank. Although there was extensive damage to both aircraft, there were no injuries. Both aircraft landed without further incident. The C310 at sua, the A36 at F45.
